About the Service

Electrical thermography is a non-contact inspection method that uses an infrared camera to measure and visualize temperature patterns in electrical equipment. It helps identify unusual heating that may be associated with loose connections, overloaded circuits, phase imbalance, damaged components, poor contact, or increased electrical resistance.

Sachu Technologies provides electrical thermography inspection services for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, manufacturing plants, data centres, hospitals, warehouses, utilities, and other electrical installations across India.

Inspections are generally performed while the electrical system is operating under normal load conditions. This allows the thermography specialist to observe equipment under actual working conditions without making physical contact with energized components. Areas showing abnormal thermal patterns are recorded, reviewed, and included in a structured inspection report.

Electrical Equipment We Inspect

  • Main LT and HT electrical panels
  • Switchgear and distribution boards
  • Busbars and busbar joints
  • Circuit breakers and isolators
  • Cable terminations and joints
  • Contactors, relays, and fuses
  • Transformers and associated connections
  • Motor control centres and control panels
  • UPS systems and battery connections
  • Generator panels and transfer switches
  • Capacitor banks and APFC panels
  • Solar electrical panels and connections
  • Earthing and bonding connections
  • Electrical connections in rotating equipment

Conditions Thermography May Help Identify

  • Loose or deteriorated electrical connections
  • Overloaded circuits and components
  • Phase-to-phase temperature imbalance
  • Excessive resistance at joints and terminals
  • Abnormal heating in breakers and contactors
  • Defective or deteriorating components
  • Uneven loading across electrical phases
  • Hotspots in cables, busbars, and terminations
  • Cooling or ventilation-related issues
  • Areas requiring further electrical investigation

Thermal findings should be evaluated together with load conditions, equipment design, operating environment, and relevant electrical measurements. A thermal anomaly does not by itself confirm the exact cause of a problem; further testing may sometimes be required.

Our Approach

Our Electrical Thermography Approach

1. Inspect

We understand the electrical system, equipment arrangement, operating condition, safety requirements, and inspection scope before beginning the survey.

2. Scan

Electrical panels and accessible components are scanned using an appropriate infrared thermal imaging camera while the equipment is operating under representative load conditions.

3. Measure

Thermal patterns, component temperatures, load information, and relevant electrical parameters are recorded wherever required.

4. Analyze

The collected thermal images and measurements are reviewed to identify abnormal temperature differences, unusual heat patterns, and components that may require attention.

5. Report

A structured thermography inspection report is prepared with thermal images, visible photographs, temperature information, observations, and equipment identification.

6. Recommend

Findings are presented to help the maintenance team assess the condition, prioritize further investigation, and plan suitable corrective action.
